Wayne and Judie's Adventures from Singapore

"Nothing so liberalises a man and expands the kindly instincts that nature put in him as travel and contact with many kind of people," so said American writer Mark Twain. And 'tis true, as the tales inside these pages testify - friendly natives in a foreign land do leave an indelible mark in the heart.

Canadian International School in Singapore

**************************************************************

The Canadian International School has 3 campuses with a total of about 1400 students. We work at the elementary campus called Toh Tuck which has more than 800 students from 2 to 9 years old (ECE to Grade 3). More than 600 of these students are Grade 1 and younger, and they represent more than 50 different nationalities. Can you imagine?

Yet on the playground, everyone looks the same in their school uniform.

At the end of the day, all students and teachers congregate in the gym where the 800 students sit in rows lined up for their buses to go home. No one is allowed to leave until all are accounted for, and the buses are loaded and driving away. That's how we end every working day. You have to see it to believe it!

And just to prove that we actually do work here, here's Judie helping some students with a research project...

and Wayne with one of the other 7 male teachers out of about 80 teachers on our campus. (Another unbelievable statistic!)
